Locating- Colour

To further my research I have been drawing off images of fabrics I have taken and edited, I have focused on drawing the shapes separate with gouache paint and fine liners for a graphic look.

Cotton Fabric

This week I have been focusing on creating a colour pallet for my self-initiated side of the project, as my concept and research is very broad colour wise I was free to explore with this. I like the effect of my drawing when using tones rather than colour, like drawing the shapes found in contoured objects using the same colour such as grey in different tones. I think this gives a really nice gradual look especially when using flat, smooth media like this gouache paint.

I have also been looking into designers through pinterest to begin to inspire me for my knit sampling such as David Koma and Katherine Roberts, These are both designs focused on very high fashion structural garments. I really like the way they look like structural art on the body.
