Martin Margeila and Victoria Berlett

Martin Margeila created a collection in spring 2013 including a subtle colour scheme with areas of metallic, this links really well to the drawings I’ve been doing. The blue he used is very similar. I love the clean look of this and would like that to come across in my colour pallet but perhaps with a bit more warmth. I think I can achieve this through clean fresh shades with bronze warmth layered on top.

I have been looking into the audience I'd like to achieve through my work and think womenswear is best for me, through researching online on pinterest and also through books I have found that womenswear often have more techniques used and more shape than menswear which I think I could benefit from this unit. I began looking into structural pleats and texture made through ribbing and tucking up but then surprised myself with being very interested in the sportswear. This is something I have never found an interest in before or thought about, but because of this I’d like to push myself into it to see where it can take me. I love Victoria Berletts collection with block colours and different textures through transparent looking blocks.
