I have finished my final collection for my branding project
this week for the brand Chloe, overall I am pleased with the collection as a
whole. I think the colour pallet taken from my primary images in china town has
worked well for the brand especially including flashes of green inspired by
their use of colour and colour proportion in previous collections.
I initially found it difficult working for a brand with a
limited range in knitwear including just plain jumpers and dresses but feel
like I have overcome that through bouncing around techniques through my
collection in different proportions well while creating volume. I am also
pleased with my yarn choice after looking into their fabrics used through the
website but I am disappointed I couldn’t take this further with the cashmeres
they use that I unfortunately cannot afford. I see my collection layered over
soft chiffon dresses and blouses in the typical Chloe style.
I found it difficult working on 2 contrasting projects at
the same time, but found time tabling and organising my time every week to be
helpful and I loved having the challenge and experience of this. I also really
enjoyed having the opportunity of experimenting more because of this and feel
like it was quicker to improve on techniques and try more things by having 2
styles of working at once. For example experimenting with plastics in my self-initiated
project where as it wouldn’t have fit in with my branding if I had only had
that.
Here are some of my final samples for the brand Chloe for
A/W..
